Senator Roger Marshall Puts Washington First while Kansans Pay the Price

IN KANSAS |  Kansas families continue to face higher costs for groceries, gas, health care, housing, and other household expenses. Senator Roger Marshall has said that Americans are “done with forever wars” and that he wants to “bring down the cost of gas and groceries.”

At the same time, Marshall has voted over 10 times against resolutions seeking to remove U.S. forces from Iran. The conflict has continued as Kansas consumers face elevated gas prices, with some counties seeing prices near or above $4 per gallon. Higher fuel costs also affect Kansas farmers, who rely on diesel to operate farming equipment and transport agricultural products.

The cost of child care, housing, health care, and other necessities has also placed additional pressure on Kansas households. At the federal level, lawmakers have debated how taxpayer dollars should be allocated among domestic programs, immigration enforcement, military operations, and other priorities.

While Kansans are forced to do more with less, Senator Marshall is voting to put federal taxpayer dollars toward President Trump’s $600 million White House ballroom, while also voting to cut federal programs designed to help struggling families. Marshall continues to support President Trump’s policies related to tariffs and the ongoing war with Iran. Families are paying more at the grocery store, facing higher costs, and fighting to stay afloat in 2026. If Marshall claims, “I think gas prices are coming down, and groceries will follow,” Kansans have a right to ask: If our senator says he “hates war” and wants to “make sure that Americans have affordable gas and groceries,” when will we see his votes focused on Kansas?

Kansans are paying the price while Senator Marshall keeps putting Washington first.
