Days Since Roger Marshall Held a Public Event

It has been over one year since Roger Marshall faced Kansans in a truly public event.

Prairie Progress Civic Action collected 3,850 petition signatures and, alongside Leading Kansas and Boots on the Ground Midwest, hand-delivered them directly to Senator Roger Marshall’s offices in Wichita and Overland Park, calling for a fully public town hall meeting with Kansans.

We launched this petition as a way to highlight the growing frustration among Kansans who say they have been unable to directly engage with their senator. It has been over 500 days since Roger Marshall ran out of his Oakley town hall, and he has not held a public event since. Our families, neighbors, and community members have real questions and concerns about our state, so we asked for their signature as a way to demand that Marshall answer to his constituents.

100 OUT OF 105 COUNTIES

Since launching the petition, we received signatures from residents all across the state, including 100 Kansas counties and 336 unique cities — representing 95% of Kansas counties and 54% of all cities statewide.

We grew tired of not hearing from Senator Marshall or his team and decided we would hand-deliver these signatures to show that Kansans will not be ignored. Despite requesting an appointment, we arrived to find his offices empty and with locked doors.

Roger Marshall has a history of ignoring, avoiding, and dodging Kansans seeking answers. This is not about a single incident. It is about a pattern of disengagement that raises a basic question of accountability and access.

We have big plans to continue holding our politicians accountable. Join our network and help us keep the pressure on.
