Kansans Finally Found Senator Roger Marshall and Are Turning Up The Heat

After more than a year and a half of no public appearances, Senator Roger Marshall emerged for a rare public event at the Kansas State Fair on September 12 for a debate against the Democratic opponent, Adam Hamilton, a historic staple of Kansas politics. In a fierce reminder of what real Kansans think about Senator Marshall’s track record, Marshall faced questions from the media and constituents about agriculture, the cost of living, tariffs, and the state of our country. The questions were familiar. So were the concerns.
It was clear that Kansans were there to finally hear answers from their senator.
From the State Fair to Johnson County
Just two days later, on September 14, Senator Marshall appeared alongside Vice President JD Vance at Webco Manufacturing in Olathe for a campaign event hosted by MAGA Inc. The event brought national political attention to Johnson County, with speakers discussing manufacturing, immigration, and Marshall’s reelection campaign. Meanwhile, constituents in Johnson County have been asking Marshall to meet with them for months.
Our network has joined other groups across the Kansas City metro in calling for constituent access and accountability. Community members have also been monitoring Marshall’s Johnson County office on Friday afternoons, documenting whether the office is open and accessible to the people it represents.
The contrast is hard to miss: national campaign appearances continue, while constituents are still asking for a chance to sit down with their senator and discuss the local issues affecting their families and communities.
