Kansans Invited to Sign Senator Roger Marshall's Birthday Card

IN KANSAS | Senator Roger Marshall turned 66 on August 9, and we invited Kansans to help us send our Senator some birthday “wishes.”

Over the past year, we had tried several ways to reach Senator Marshall. We sent handwritten postcards from his constituents, delivered petition signatures requesting a public event, invited him to community events, requested meetings, and asked him to hear directly from the people he represented.

So far, he had ignored all of it. So we tried something new!

We put together a digital birthday card for Senator Marshall and invited Kansans to add their own “birthday wishes.” Constituents could pick their favorite font, choose a color, and write a birthday message to their Senator. Whether it was a friendly reminder that Kansans were still waiting for a town hall, a lighthearted birthday wish, or something in between, we wanted them to add it!

After all, if Senator Marshall wouldn’t hear from his constituents the usual way, maybe he’d read their birthday messages instead!

We made sure the messages and the card were delivered as part of a big birthday wish from us and his constituents.
